Does GCET offer phone service?

We do! GCET has partnered with Ooma to offer a completely wireless voice-over-IP phone service that is compatible with most existing handsets. If you would like phone service, let us know when scheduling your internet installation and we’ll start the signup process for you.

How do I know if I’m a robot or not?

It depends. We’re big fans of the Voight Kampff Test, though there’s certainly an argument for more classic approaches like the Turing Test. Alternately, just ask yourself: how do you feel?

Will my devices be able to connect to GCET’s WiFi?

Our wireless gateway broadcasts 802.11b/g/n and 802.11a/n/ac. In other words, pretty much any Wi-Fi capable device will be supported, however older devices may be limited to slower speeds due to individual hardware limitations.

What does the installation process for internet service look like?

During the installation, a qualified GCET technician will mount a small wireless transceiver on the exterior of your house or apartment. How long does the installation take?

Most installations typically take an hour to an hour-and-a-half to complete. If there are special circumstances that would prevent you from being available (e.g. you need to leave early for an appointment), let us know when scheduling your installation and we can work with you to find a specific time if needed.

Do I have to be home while the installation is happening?

Yes – you or another authorized adult (18+) must be available for the entire installation window or our technician won’t be able to complete the installation (it’s a legal thing). If you know you won’t be available, we can work with you to reschedule your installation time.

How do I reschedule my installation time?

If you know that you won’t be available for your scheduled installation time, give us a call and we’ll be happy to help you reschedule. We do ask for at least 24 hours’ notice before the installation would have taken place.
